Diamond in the rough I wasn't sure this was the place for me when I first toured the neighborhood--while not nearly as bad as it used to be, the Rhode Island Metro area isn't known for its appealing looks. The building was incredible, though--gorgeous hardwood floors, granite countertops and brand-new appliances in a kitchen with pass-throughs (a lifelong dream), even individual AC units in every room (that don't obliterate your power bill, as it turns out!).
